Somebody with water coming through a ceiling does not browse. They open Google, they filter by open now, and they call the first plumber who answers. We measured every plumber Google returns across eight Nassau towns, and twelve of them have no opening hours on their listing at all. Google cannot show a business as open when it does not know the hours.
One sweep, September 2026, every plumber Google returns across eight Nassau towns. Counts, not estimates, and each one refreshes when the next sweep runs.
have no opening hours on Google. In a trade people search at two in the morning, that is the whole ballgame, and it takes four minutes to fix.
do not appear in the first twenty results for the best plumber in their own town.
are rated below 4.5, and 12 of those sit below 4.0. Unlike most trades, the rating here is genuinely part of the problem.
have fewer than twenty five reviews. The median in the category is 34, so a hundred puts you clear of nearly everyone.
link to a website from their listing that does not load. The caller taps it, gets an error, and calls the next plumber.
carry fewer than ten photos, which for emergency work means no evidence of the job being done properly.
Source: the September 2026 Nassau sweep, 82 listings across 8 towns. Two limits worth naming. Photo counts appear only where they fall below ten, because Google returns at most ten photo references and anything above that would be describing the API. And this sweep excludes the separate no-website call lists, which were built by filtering for businesses without a site: counting those here would have produced a no-website figure that only described how the list was made.
Regular hours, holiday hours, and the 24 hour flag if you take night calls. This is the four minute fix that twelve of the businesses we measured have not made.
Category, service list, service area and the profile work that gets you into the twenty, then higher in it.
The ask that goes out while you are packing the van, not a week later. Twenty five reviews is the median here, so this moves you fast.
A reply on every review you have, and a process for the bad one. Twenty four of the plumbers measured sit under 4.5 and most have answered nothing.
Eight of them link to a site that errors from the listing. Fixing that costs nothing and it is a caller you already earned.
The call answered when you are under a sink, the missed call texted back in seconds, and the job booked without you touching the phone.

The sweep behind it is a stored run with a date on it, and the score that reads five signals publishes its weights rather than describing them. Where something could not be measured, the page says so instead of estimating.
