37 percent of Nassau businesses are not in the first sixty results for their own town
This is not an estimate about local search. In September 2026 we measured every business Google returns for nine trades across eighteen Nassau towns, 1271 listings in total, and counted how many come back when somebody searches for the best of their kind where they are. 468 do not.
For a Nassau business that is good at the job and hard to find
A business in Hicksville, Massapequa, Levittown, Freeport, Garden City, Valley Stream, Westbury, Rockville Centre or anywhere else in the county.
Rated well by the customers you already have, and still not appearing for the searches that bring new ones.
Somebody who wants the measurement first and the plan second, rather than a retainer that starts before anybody has looked.
Not for: businesses outside New York City and Long Island, and anyone who wants a guaranteed position by a date. Nobody honest sells that.
What the Nassau sweep found
1271 businesses, nine trades
Plumbers, HVAC, electricians, roofers, auto repair, landscapers, contractors, salons and med spas. Every listing Google returns, not a sample of our own clients.
468 never surface locally
That is 37 percent of the county, absent from the first sixty results for the best of their kind in their own town.
91 point at a dead link
A website link on the Google listing that does not load. The cheapest defect on this page to put right, and the one that wastes a customer who already chose you.
88 publish no hours
Google cannot show a business as open when it does not know the hours, which removes it from every open-now filter.
398 carry almost no photos
Fewer than ten on the listing, in categories where the picture is most of the decision.
The rating is almost never the problem
Across all nine trades the median rating sits between 4.7 and 5.0. Being good is not what is missing.

The same five signals, run on your business, in your town, usually the same day. It says where you sit against the county figures above.
-
The fast wins, fixed
Hours, categories, the dead link, photos. These are the ones that move within weeks and most of them cost nothing but the doing.
-
The slow ones, month by month
Rankings, reviews and the work that gets you named in AI answers. The same measurements repeat, so you watch what moved instead of taking our word.
Common questions
- Who does local SEO in Nassau County?
- Plenty of people. What almost nobody does is show you the county first. This page is built on a sweep of 1271 Nassau businesses across nine trades, and the same measurement runs on your own listing before anyone quotes you anything. One person does the work, in English or Spanish. No account managers, nothing handed to a junior, which is the honest reason the client list is short rather than long.
- Which Nassau towns did you measure?
- Eighteen across the nine trades: Hicksville, Massapequa, Levittown, Freeport, Valley Stream, Garden City, Westbury, Rockville Centre, Hempstead, Mineola, Bethpage, Great Neck, Franklin Square, Manhasset, Seaford and the rest. Each individual trade sweep covers eight of them.
- Is my town different from the county figure?
- Often. The county number is nine trades averaged, and a trade in one town can sit well above or below it. The free check measures your town rather than applying the average to you.
- How long until it moves?
- Profile and listing fixes can move the map results in weeks. Website and AI visibility work runs in months. Anyone quoting a specific number for your business has not measured your business.
- What does local SEO cost in Nassau County?
- The check is free and lands the same day. The full audit is $350 and credits toward your first month. Ongoing work starts at $500 a month, month to month, cancel in one email. Every price is on the pricing page with the arithmetic already done, rather than behind a call.
