30 of 57 Suffolk plumbers do not come back for their own town

Suffolk carries the highest median review count of the four counties we measure in all three of the trades read here: 76 for plumbing, 41 for heating and 30 for electrical, against 31, 20 and 8 in Nassau. A review count that puts you mid-table one county west does not here. And it is still not enough on its own: of 57 Suffolk plumbing listings, 30 do not appear in the first sixty for the best plumber in their own town, and 3 link to a website that does not load when you tap it. Read across six Suffolk towns in September 2026.

Who this is for, in a county with a high bar

A Suffolk business that is doing good work and still sitting below the county middle without knowing it.

An owner who has been told to get more reviews and has never been told how many is enough for his own trade in his own county.

Anyone about to spend on ads in a market where the organic bar is already high.

Not for: Businesses outside New York City and Long Island, and anyone looking for a service that reports on itself rather than on the market.

What the Suffolk sweep found

30 of 57 plumbers never surface for their own town

Searched for the best plumber in the town each business sits in, and read off where that business appears. Not in the first sixty is not a map rank and we do not claim a cause, only that Google's business search does not return them.

3 link to a site that does not load

The caller taps the link on the listing, gets an error, and rings the next business. It is the cheapest thing on this page to fix and the one most likely to be losing a job this week.

Suffolk sets the highest review bar of the four counties

Median 76 for plumbing against 31, 41 for heating against 20, and 30 for electrical against 8. A review count that puts you mid-table in Nassau does not here.

Hours are mostly right, which is unusual

Only 4 plumbing listings publish no opening hours, against 13 in Nassau. Since Google began moving listings through the day on whether it can say you are open, that field does real work, and Suffolk is ahead on it.

Heating and electrical, same shape

24 of 56 heating listings and 32 of 61 electrical listings also fail to appear for their own town. Plumbing, heating and electrical measured independently, all landing the same way.

What the population is, said out loud

Every count is of listings that carry a website and show a gap on their Google profile, which is exactly how the Nassau sweeps this page compares against were drawn. Two differently drawn populations are not a comparison, and this page was wrong about that earlier today before it was right.

What the local SEO work is, and what it costs

  1. Your own numbers, free

The same signals, run on your business in your Suffolk town, usually the same day. It says where you sit against the figures above rather than against a national average.

  2. The full audit, $350

Every signal checked by hand, the quick wins fixed on the spot, and a plain plan for the rest. It credits toward your first month if you carry on.

  3. The work, from $500 a month

Common questions

Who does local SEO in Suffolk County?
Plenty of people, and most of them will quote you before they have looked at your listing. The sweep above is what happens first here: plumbing, heating and electrical read across six Suffolk towns in September 2026, so you see the bar the county actually sets before anyone talks about money. The same measurement then runs on your own business, free. One person does the work, in English or Spanish, which is the honest reason the client list is short rather than long.
How many reviews do I need in Suffolk?
It depends on your line of work. Across the Suffolk listings we measured in September 2026 the median was 76 for plumbing, 41 for heating and cooling and 30 for electrical. The same trades in Nassau sat at 31, 20 and 8. Both counts come from the same instrument and the same kind of listing. If somebody quotes you a review target without naming the county, the trade and the population it came from, it is not a measurement.
Why is the bar higher in Suffolk?
We measured it rather than explaining it, so the honest answer is that we do not know the cause. What the plumbing, heating and electrical sweeps show is that Suffolk listings carry far more reviews and slightly higher ratings than their Nassau counterparts in the same trade. One plausible reading is that Suffolk businesses cover more ground and have been collecting for longer, but we have not measured that and will not print it as though we had.
Which Suffolk trades have you measured?
Plumbing, heating and cooling, and electrical, all in September 2026 across six Suffolk towns. Nassau has nine trades measured and a longer history, so its page carries readings this one does not.
Do you work outside Suffolk?
Yes. New York City and Long Island, so Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Brooklyn.
What does local SEO cost in Suffolk County?
The same as everywhere we work, because the county does not change the labour. The check is free and usually back the same day. The full audit is $350 and credits toward your first month. Ongoing work starts at $500 a month, month to month, cancel in one email. The pricing page carries every figure with the arithmetic already done, rather than a form that gets you a call.
